CBCT 3D imaging

All of our x-rays are digital. For complicated diagnosis and treatment planning, we also have a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) machine, which takes 3D images.

Compared with standard 2D x-rays, CBCT:

• Shows each structure on its own, without overlapping anatomy blocking the view.
• Reveals smaller infections and other problems, so they can be caught earlier.
• Has no size distortion, so measurements are accurate.
• Provides 3D data for planning complex procedures such as dental implants.

We don't use CBCT routinely, but having it in the office helps us diagnose tricky problems and plan complex treatment with confidence.
